Add a GameChanger calendar to UpNext Family

Before you start

Check your access

• Open the correct team in GameChanger.
• Your GameChanger role affects the feed: followers receive games, while staff, players, and parents or guardians receive practices and other team events too.

Part 1

Copy the link from GameChanger

1. From GameChanger’s Home tab, open the team.
2. Tap the gear icon in the upper-right corner.
3. Choose Schedule Sync, then Sync Schedule to Your Calendar.
4. Choose Copy Calendar Link. If that option is grouped under Google Calendar on iPhone, choose Send Link and Instructions, then Copy.
5. Keep the copied URL private.

Provider note: GameChanger’s Google-specific suggestion to append extra characters to a feed URL is intended to influence Google’s refresh timing. Do not alter the link before previewing it in UpNext.

Part 2

Add the link to UpNext

1. Open UpNext Family, go to Settings, choose Connected calendars, then choose Manage or Add → Add calendar.
2. On “Where does your schedule live?”, choose Calendar link.
3. Expand “Need help finding a calendar link?” and choose Other; follow the short cue.
4. Paste the private subscription URL into the calendar link field, then choose Preview and continue.
5. On “Who is this for?”, choose the family member and enter the group name and activity. Season and notes are optional.
6. Choose Review import, check the schedule preview, then choose Import calendar.

Part 3

Confirm that it is working

Open Settings, then choose Connected calendars. The new calendar should show its provider, upcoming-event count, and an OK status after the first import. Use Refresh calendars → Check now later to ask connected calendars for current changes.

UpNext displays only a redacted source address after import. It does not show the private path, query, or token again.

Troubleshooting

If the calendar does not load

• If practices are missing, check whether your GameChanger account is only following the team rather than attached as staff, player, parent, or guardian.
• If Schedule Sync is missing, confirm you opened the correct team and are using the current GameChanger app.
• In UpNext’s Schedule provider step, choose Other; GameChanger is not yet a named provider in the current app version.
• Make sure you copied a subscription URL beginning with webcal://, http://, or https:// — not an ordinary event page.
• If the provider only gives you a downloaded .ics file, return to Add Calendar and choose Calendar file. That is a one-time import and will not refresh automatically.
